Google adsense trick

Can You Fool Google Adsense?

Firstly what do I mean by “Can You Fool Google Adsense?” Basically can you click on your own ads on your blog/site and get paid for them?
The quick and easy answer – No.
Think about it, first off it’s Google, you can’t fool Google, they just know absolutely everything about you and everyone in the world. Somehow Google are watching all of us and know every single little thing we do, it’s like some form of dark magic!
And secondly, do you think Google would go giving away money so freely? You might be able to fool smaller ad networks, but not Google.
So how do Google know if you click on your own ads? Well it’s a combination of the below factors

 IP Address
This basically is your computers address, it’s linked to your adsense account, and if Google see an ad was clicked by the same IP address as the adsense account, it’s obviously you.

Cookies
Ok so change your IP address, well Google still has cookies on your machine so they know it’s you.

Other Google Services

Do you use Gmail? Google search, Google Toolbar, Google Talk, Google Calendar etc….? Well Google can easily trace back any clicks to any of these accounts and they’ll know it’s you

Your Click Patterns

1. Isn’t it weird the way this certain IP address only ever clicks on ads for this particular website? Ye Google knows it’s you
2. This person came directly onto this site from the direct URL or a bookmark, and went straight to the ads…. Ye Google knows it’s you
3. It’s weird the way the come to the site, click on an ad an leave without ever checking out the sites content….. Ye Google knows it’s you

Geo-Location

Google can trace down your IP address and traffic down to nearly the street it originated from. So if Google sees all the clicks coming from the same area, they know….

Search Engine Ranking

Ok this site has a Pagerank of 1, and get’s about 10 hits a day, but somehow they nearly all click on the ads…… Once again Google knows it’s you…..

I know I’ll put a click here button on the ads to make people click on them…….eh hello this is Google, they can figure out what any words on a page mean
At this stage I would just advise you to give up on trying to trick Google because you just cant do it. There’s a reason why Google is worth nearly $160 Billion, so good luck trying to trick them
Don’t mess with Google, or Google will mess you up, any suspicious activity with your adsense account will see your account flagged, revenue removed and a possible ban on your account.
Don’t go playing with fire.

Google Could Be Making $497 Million A Year From URL Typos
You know everytime you type something into your address bar, then once you hit enter and land on the wrong site you realise you’ve made a common typo, yet again. Well it’s nice to know that you are helping Google make up to $497 Million a year when you do that.
For example if your quickly typing in “Facebook.com” you may accidently type in “Favebook.com” and if you hit enter you will find yourself on a page full of adverts, and this is where Google are make their money.
According to a study at Harvard University, Google could be raking in some $497 Million a year from people simply typing topographical errors that mimic similar sites into the address search bar. This practice has the strange title of “Typosquatting”, which is when people register domain names similar to existing ones and when a user lands on it they are presented with a page of adverts, hence leading to Googles revenue.
According to a study at the Harvard University Google could be making up to $497 Million in ad revenue a year. They used a list of common spelling mistakes to generate another list of possible typo domains for the 3,264 most popular “.com” websites, as determined by Alexa.com rankings.
They study  estimates that 0.60% of uses who type in Google.com make an error. This may seem like a small amount, but when you consider that Google.com gets an average of 425060000 a day, it means that there is 2566230 daily visitors who land on typo sites, and that’s a lot!
With help from some fancy software , the researchers crawled 285,000 of some 900,000 “misspelled” sites to estimate what revenue the domains are generating. When we have a look at some of those results we see that some serious cash was made.

Google Analytics- More Than Just Visitors

Google Analytics is the most popular analytics program available, partly because it is free but mostly because it can do everything that the paid programs can and in some cases more. When Google launched Analytics it pretty much turned an industry on its head. Companies that had previously done well in this industry now went out of business. The companies that were able to keep going had to innovate and offer something extra so people would be willing to spend money on their systems

Analytics offers us so many insights into our website and how people are interacting with it. As soon as we log into our sites profile page we are hit with the data that is probably the most important to us. Total visitors, page views and bounce rates. Most of us are capable of diving a little deeper into our data so we can see what keywords people use to get to our site, and what they did when they got there, did they bounce away or did they stay and view a couple of different pages.
But Google Analytics goes so much deeper than that, most people just want to see how many visitors they received the previous day and they are happy with that, but if you are willing to dig into the data, what you can uncover can prove invaluable to the success of your site.
For instance between 15 and 30% of a sites traffic will use the search function and Analaytics can track the keywords they searched with.  Knowing what people are searching for tells you what your traffic is really looking for on your site and what they would like to find. The question is can you provide the answers to what they are looking for?
Setting up goals through Analytics takes minutes but it allows you to properly track the most important aspects of  your site. If you want people to sign up for your RSS feed use goals to find out why people are signing up for your feed, what path lead them to sign up, the content they viewed before they decided to sign up and ultimately what made them decide that they wanted to hear what you have to say. Setting up a goal can help give these answers, all you are left to do is to figure out how this can be replicated on other parts of your site.
Another great tool in Analytics is the power to segment your data. If you look at your data from a high level it will be very difficult to try and find the answers you are looking for. The ability to segment or break your data down into more manageable pieces makes it so much easier to find what you are looking, Analytics comes preloaded with some segments but it only takes a few minutes to build and customise your own segments that will help give you a clearer picture of what the data is trying to tell you.
Many people who use Analytics just think of it as a way to track the amount of visitors your sites has received, what they are missing is the wealth of information that is stored behind these figures. The key is how you interpret the data and what it tells you can help you to build a better site that is more use to your visitors and maybe even more profitable.

Make Google Love Your Blog in The After Panda Era
The Google Panda left many webmasters surprised. While we may not actually understand all the factors that Google has to consider before each update, we are sure that Google is trying to deliver quality and satisfactory results to users. It takes knowing the basics of Google Ranking procedures to retain and improve the ranking of your website despite whatever changes are going on in the Google Ranking Algorithm. This is what I call making Google to love your blog! How do you do this?

 Produce Unique Quality Content
In internet business, you can’t see the person you are marketing, you don’t know what (s)he looks like and you can’t tell when (s)he starts to disapprove what you are saying. Many of us think that using unique quality content is only to the interest of Google and other search bots, but that is not true. Unique quality content is your weapon; what you will use to convince and make a sale. Produce unique quality content and everybody will be your friend; Google and web surfers alike.
Optimize Your Website URL
Your website URL must be structured with the keyword you are targeting and with other words relevant to what you are offering in the site. For instance, if your website is built on blogging tips, the truth is that bloggintips.com will rank higher in the search engines than stevenpapas.com, for the keyword “blogging tips”. Although this method is not the absolute way to rank higher for a particular keyword, the right domain name helps you climb up the rankings. However, it is also advised that you narrow your site or blog down and target a specific area in blogging tips, like blog traffic tips or SEO tips, etc.
Be Consistent
The frequency with which you make posts to your website or blog matters a lot. Google is always looking for fresh content and the latest tip in any niche. The category of content you should focus on includes text, audio and video tips targeted to your niche market. You can decide to write one post everyday or 2 to 3 times a week. If you can’t write daily, at least write regularly.
Optimize Your Articles
Make sure that you include the keywords you are targeting in all the articles posted on your blog or website. The keyword should be in the article title and it should also appear in the article body as well as in the last paragraph. It’s important to have titles which are a keyword phrase people type in Google. For example, no one is going to search for “6 things I hate about blogging” or “Why Hitler would fail as a blogger”. However, the phrase “monetize my blog using Adsense” is more likely to be search in Google and your post will be the first to appear in the results.
Social Media Marketing And Effective Backlinks
Quality backlinks is the most substantial factor which Google bots respect. This is the key to getting massive authority with Google. Write unique, keyword targeted posts and offer them to quality blogs as guest posts along with the proper backlinks inside. However, submitting an article in hundreds of article directories with the purpose of gathering backlings, is not the right way to promote your blog in the eyes of Google. That’s why we say that article marketing is dead. Of course we mean the article marketing which is done exclusively through directorie. And that’s true. Cheap promotion methods give cheap results – if none.
From the experience I acquired from my website where I give software reviews and coupons, I see that quality backlinking combined with the right niche, is highly appreciated and awarded by the search engines. The result is to get the right visitors to your blog. After all, not any traffic is the right traffic, right?
Also, make your social presence strong. As Matt Cutts from Google says, sites like Facebook and Twitter, can influence the rankings of blogs. Also, include social bookmarking plug-ins in your blog so that readers can easily share your contents with fellow readers and bloggers.
Have A Page To Review Top Products, People And Companies
If you look around you will understand that there are certain products, personalities and even companies that people like to hear about in your niche; what they are doing and what they may be up to. Pay special attention to product launches. If you have a good readership community this could make you a few hundred bucks or even thousands when the review is monetized.
Have News And Events Page
Any post on news and events always gets the attention of people and even the attention of Google bots. We all want to know the current event in that niche!
Use A Functional Website
Your website must be pleasant to view, navigate easily and should be easy to load. Google wants an effective and functional result and your site is far from meeting these criteria if it has a disgusting view and takes way much time to load.

Google Adsense Tips, Tricks, and Secrets

I’ve been reading a few forums and blogs about Google Adsense tips lately, and thought it would be helpful to consolidate as many as possible in one place without the comments. I’ve also thrown in a few tips of my own. We start out with some of the basic general stuff and move to the more specific topics later on.

Build an Empire?

When you’re deciding to become a website publisher you will fall into one of two broad categories:
  • Publish 100 websites that each earn $1 a day profit
  • Publish 1 website that earns $100 a day profit
The reality of it is, most people end up somewhere in between. Having 100 websites leaves you with maintenance, management and content issues. Having one website leaves you open to all sort of fluctuations (search engines algorithm’s, market trends, etc). You can adapt your plan on the way, but you’ll have an easier time if you start out going in the direction of where you want to end up.

General or Niche
You can build your website around general topics or niche ones. Generally speaking niche websites work better with adsense. First off the ad targeting is much better. Secondly as you have a narrow focus your writing naturally becomes more expert in nature. Hopefully this makes you more authority in your field.
If this is your first try at building an adsense website, make it about something you enjoy. It will make the process much easier and less painful to accomplish. You should however make sure that your topic has enough of an ad inventory and the payout is at a level you are comfortable with. You may love medieval folk dancing, but the pool of advertisers for that subject is very small (in fact it’s currently zero).
Once you’ve gotten the hang of how Adsense works on a website, you are going to want to dabble in some high paying keywords, you may even be tempted to buy a high paying keyword list. This does come with some dangers. First off the level of fraud is much higher on the big money terms. Secondly there is a distortion of the supply and demand relationship for these terms. Everyone wants ads on their website that make $35 or more a click, however the number of advertisers who are willing to pay that much is pretty limited. Additionally the competition for that traffic is going to be stiff. So, don’t try to run with the big dogs if you can’t keep up. If you have to ask if you’re a big dog, then chances are, you’re not. I have used a high dollar keywords report from CASHKEWORDS.COM and was pleased with my results (see cash keywords free offer recap).

New Sites, Files and Maintenance

When you’re building a new site don’t put adsense on it until it’s finished. In fact I’d go even farther and say don’t put adsense on it until you have built inbound links and started getting traffic. If you put up a website with “lorem ipsum” dummy or placeholder text, your adsense ads will almost certainly be off topic. This is often true for new files on existing websites, especially if the topic is new or different. It may take days or weeks for google’s media bot to come back to your page and get the ads properly targeted. TIP: If you start getting lots of traffic from a variety of IP’s you will speed this process up dramatically.
I like to build my sites using include files. I put the header, footer and navigation in common files. It makes it much easier to maintain and manage. I also like to put my adsense code in include files. If I want/need to change my adsense code, it’s only one file I have to work with. TIP: I also use programming to turn the adsense on or off. I can change one global variable to true or false and my adsense ads will appear or disappear.

Managing URL’s and channels

Adsense channels is one area where it’s really easy to go overboard with stats. You can set up URL channels to compare how one website is doing to another. You can also set up sub channels for each URL. If you wanted to you do something channels like this:
  • domain1.com – 728 banner
  • domain1.com – 336 block
  • domain1.com – text link
  • domain2.com – 728 banner
  • domain2.com – image banner
  • domain2.com – 336 block
  • domain3.com – 300 block
While this is great for testing and knowing who clicks where and why, it makes your reporting a little wonky. Your total number will always be correct but when you look at your reports with a channel break down things will get displayed multiple times and not add up to correct total. Makes things pretty confusing, so decide if you really need/want that level of reporting detail. TIP: At the very least you want to know what URL is generating the income so be sure to enter distinct URL channels.

Site Design and Integration

Once you know you are going to put adsense on your website you’re going to have to consider where to put it. If this is new site it’s easier, if it’s an existing site it’s more difficult. While there are some people who will be able to do it, in most cases I’d say if you just slap the adsense code in, you’ll end up with a frankensite monster (props to Tedster of WMW for the buzzword). While every website is different, Google has published some heat maps showing the optimal locations. No surprise that the best spots are middle of the page and left hand side. Now I’ve done really well by placing it on the right, but you should know why you’re doing it that way before hand, and be prepared to change it if it doesn’t work out.

Google has also has published a list of the highest performing ad sizes:
  • 336×280 large rectangle
  • 300×250 inline rectangle
  • 160×600 wide skyscraper
From the sites that I run, I do really well with the 336 rectangle and 160 skyscraper. My next best performing ad size is the 728 leaderboard, I don’t really use the 300 inline rectangle too often. So really it depends on how well you integrate these into your site. Placement can have a dramatic effect on performance. TIP: When working on a new site or new layout you may want to give each location it’s own channel for a little while until you understand the users behavior.
Another ‘trick’ that can increase your CTR is by blending your adsense into your body copy. For example if your body copy is black, remove the adsense border and make the title, text, and URL black.TIP: Try changing all of your page hyperlinks to a high contrast color (like dark red or a bold blue) then change the adsense title to the same color.
The one area where I’ve found blended ads don’t perform as well is forums, especially ones with a high volume of repeat members. Regular visitors develop banner blindness pretty quickly. One ‘trick’ to keep the ads from being ignored is to randomize the color and even the placement. As with any of the decisions about location, placement and color it’s a trade off. How much do you emphasize the ads without annoying your visitors. Remember it’s better to have a 1% CTR with 500 regular visitors as opposed to a 5% CTR with 50 visitors. TIP: For forums try placing the adsense ads directly above or below the the first forum thread.
