Searching for Online Jobs, Where Else? Online.

Of course searching for an online job online makes sense. People wanting to hire online employees are hoping to hear from online candidates. Does this mean you can just email a response to a job ad? No. Many will. And they won’t get hired. Always have a resume and a cover letter. Online jobs are like any other job out there – they are no different. You wouldn’t show up in your PJs at a bank with your hair messy and your teeth not brushed and walk up to the manager and say…..”Hey! I’m looking for a job and saw your ad.”
So don’t just email an employer and say….”I saw your job ad and I really need work. Can you hire me?” That will go over like a lead balloon. As it should.
Be professional. I promise it will take you further in the hiring process than not being professional.
Now – you can always do a search on Craigslist for online jobs – or you can go to one of the major job search sites like CareerBuilder or Monster. I personally prefer beyond.com. I have had others tell me that’s where they’ve gotten their online job or begun their online job search. You can post your resume, set up job search helper tools and it’s all free. At the bare minimum – start with beyond.com
Doing daily searches or setting up your search helpers to do those searches for you each day and email them to you is a great way to start the online jobs search process. Find out what is out there, what you’re qualified for and you’ll start to see a path that you want to focus on. Then you can cater your cover letter to each job that interests you.
This is just the beginning steps – but these are good tips and ideas to get you started.
